Google Maps ParkingPrimary parking for the Wreath Laying Ceremony will be Patriot's Field. When you arrive at the event, you will be directed to the field. A hayride or a shuttle will be available to transport you to the program tent, if needed. You will leave your wreaths at Patriot's Hall to be transported to the Grady Monument. If you need to drop off flags or other large items, you will be directed to the main flagpole, where you can drop items off to be transported to the tent.
Google Maps Secondary ParkingSecondary parking for the ceremony will be Patriots Hall Parking Lot and Patriots Hall Dr.Wreath Drop OffAll wreaths will be dropped off at Patriots Hall to be transported to the Grady Monument by the JROTC.Before the CeremonyIf you are an invited dignitary, you will need to stop by the information tent, located next to the Program Tent. At that location you will be given a ribbon with your name and organization on it. This will tell you where you are to sit. You will be escorted to your seat by a member of the JROTC.Order of the Ceremony - Program TentBetween 9 am and 10 am, participants will be invited to gather in the program tent for the beginning of the ceremony. The color guard will post in front of the stage for the pledge of allegiance. The North Carolina State Pipes and Drums will provide music at 10 minutes before the program, 5 minutes before the program and during the program at specific intervals. Guest speakers will provide remarks at the Program Tent. Upon completion, participants will be invited to stand and march toward the Grady Monument.Order of the Ceremony - Grady MonumentUpon arrival at the Grady Monument, particpants will file in the rope line. There will be benches provided for those who need them. Once everyone has gathered at the monument, attention will be turned to the Loyalist Monument for the rendering of honors by the Scottish Society of Wilmington. Once this has been completed the ceremony at the monument will begin. When this concludes, the Patriots in the earthworks will fire a salute. |
