Volunteer

A volunteer holds two pieces of a dogwood tree leaf. A young boy at the volunteer's side looks at the leaf.
Volunteer Ranger Geoffrey demonstrates to a group of junior rangers what will happen if you break apart a dogwood tree leaf; the leaf veins remain intact even when stretched apart to both halves. Roughleaf dogwood is common along the river edges within Missouri National Recreational River.
