CONCORD, MA—Minute Man National Historical Park is actively recruiting energetic, committed young adults who are interested in gaining work experience with a federal land agency in a public lands Internship Program. The internship program recruits young adults to work at Minute Man National Historical Park to learn skills, contribute to meaningful park projects, and create experiences that will make them marketable in a career with a public land agency. This summer, the park will host multiple positions that support cultural and resource management projects and work alongside park rangers to serve the visiting public.
12-week (3 month) Latino Heritage internship. Starting early May and ending in early August, the intern will receive a weekly stipend of $640. Park housing is included. This Trails Planning and GIS Assistant intern will work with the Resource Management and Facilities Division to prepare a Trails Management Plan/Story Map for a segment of trail within the park. This position qualifies for Direct Hire Authority. Direct Hire Authority allows students who excel in their internships and meet any other job-specific education or training requirements to be hired without competition into permanent positions within the National Park Service and other select bureaus of the Department of the Interior for which they are qualified. 12-week (3 months) Cultural Resources Diversity internship. Starting early June and ending in early September, the intern will receive a weekly stipend of $520. Park housing is included. Intern will work alongside park rangers who serve the visiting public at Visitor Centers and provide orientation and information at in-person programs. 12-week part-time Horticultural internship. Starting in May and ending in August, the intern will receive a stipend of $15 per hour. Horticultural interns will work outdoors with the Cultural and Natural Resource Management Division on vegetation and masonry projects throughout the park, with a focus on the historic Buttrick Gardens.
