NPS Podcasts The Jackson Ward Walking Tour podcast features a 13-stop tour of historic Jackson Ward, the neighborhood where Maggie L. Walker lived and worked. Narrated by Elvatrice Belsches, the tour will introduce you to the people and institutions of a remarkable community that flourished during Mrs. Walker's lifetime. In the early 20th century, Jackson Ward was the largest African American neighborhood in Richmond, and a nationally important center of African American cultural and economic activity. Jackson Ward was declared a National Historic Landmark District in 1978. Music on the podcast provided by the Library of Congress.
