Hanford: Directions & Map

 

The Hanford Site and the communities of Richland, West Richland, Pasco and Kennewick are all part of the Tri-Cities region in southeastern Washington. Our park visitor center is in Richland at 2000 Logston Blvd., Richland, WA 99354. The Tri-Cities region is three hours east of Seattle, two hours west of Spokane, and three and a half hours east of Portland. 


  • Distance from The Dalles to Richland: 136 miles (218 km)
  • Distance from Portland to Richland: 222 miles (357 km)
  • Distance from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport: 207 miles (333 km)
 

Directions to our visitor center by car

For visitors driving from Portland and the Columbia River Gorge, I-84 and US 97 are the easiest ways to reach the Tri-Cities.

  • Take I-84 E to the junction with US 97 N and drive approximately 45 minutes to reach the Tri-Cities.
  • Once you reach the Tri-Cities, take the I-182 E exit toward Richland/Pasco. Continue on I-182 E for 3.5 miles (6 km).
  • Take exit 4 for WA-240 W (Bypass Hwy) toward Vantage and drive for 4 miles (6 km).
  • Turn left onto WA-240 W at the intersection of WA-240 and Stevens. WA-240 turns left (west) at this intersection.
  • Continue left on WA-240 W, cross the railroad tracks, take the second right after the railroad tracks to turn onto Logston Boulevard.
  • From Logston Boulevard, turn right into first parking lot and you will arrive at the entrance to the visitor center.

For visitors driving from Seattle and the Puget Sound region, I-90 and WA-24 are the quickest routes to reach the Tri-Cities. 
 
  • Take I-90 E for about 160 miles (257 km) to the junction with WA-24 south.
  • Turn right on WA-24 and drive for approximately 36 miles (58 km) until you reach WA-240.
  • Turn right on WA-240, drive another 30 miles (48 km).
  • Take the next left after the Horn Rapids RV Park onto Logston Boulevard. 
  • From Logston Boulevard, turn right into first parking lot and you will arrive at the entrance to the visitor center. 

For visitors driving from Spokane, WA I-90 and WA-24 are the easiest ways to reach the Tri-Cities.

  • Take I-90 W for approximately 60 miles (96 km).
  • Continue onto US-395S (signs read Ritzville/Pasco) and drive approximately 72 miles (116 km).
  • Take I-182 W/US-395 S toward Richland/Pendleton and continue for 10 miles (16 km).
  • Take exit 4 for WA-240 W (Bypass Hwy) toward Vantage and drive for 4 miles (6 km).
  • Turn left onto WA-240 W at the intersection of WA-240 and Stevens. WA-240 turns left (west) at this intersection.
  • Continue left on WA-240 W, cross the railroad tracks, take the second right after the railroad tracks to turn onto Logston Boulevard.
  • From Logston Boulevard, turn right into first parking lot and you will arrive at the entrance to the visitor center.
