There is much to see and do in the area. Beach activities such as kite flying, sandcastle building, clam digging, and surf perch fishing are enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. Heading farther inland you'll find opportunities for trail hiking and wildlife watching. A rich assortment of area museums and interpretive centers await your exploration.

Local coastal towns provide plenty of ways to relax and enjoy the area. Cannon Beach offers a quaint downtown with shops and eateries, and Seaside offers its promenade along the sandy shore. The Long Beach Peninsula's 28-miles of driveable beach offer a unique experience for folks of all ages.

Astoria is rich with turn-of-the-century architecture. Very much a working town today, Astoria shows a glimpse into the past with the comforts of the present. The Flavel House Museum and the Columbia River Maritime Museum show the unique history of this area over the past century. Explore the piers and downtown areas while enjoying a beautiful view of the Columbia River.
