Native American Heritage

*The area that is now Lassen Volcanic National Park was originally designated as national forest on June 2, 1905. On May 6, 1907, Lassen Peak and Cinder Cone were established as national monuments. These two national parks and some national forest land were incorporated into Lassen Volcanic National Park in 1916.
