Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument
Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument, a unit of the National Park Service, holds the distinction of being the first National Monument established in Texas. It sits just a few miles from Lake Meredith National Recreation Area, making it an easy and meaningful addition to any visit. Palo Duro Canyon State Park is less than 50 miles away and is otherwise known as the "Little Grand Canyon of Texas."
