Calumet Visitor Center

Parking

Two accessible parking spaces are located in the parking lot on 5th street.

Entering the Visitor Center

The front entrance is 110 feet from the parking lot. There is an 8-inch step to get in the front entrance. The accessible entrance is on the south face of the building, 200 feet from the parking lot.

Borrow a Wheelchair

If you need to borrow a wheelchair, please talk to the staff at the information desk. The wheelchair is available first come, first served.

Restrooms

All restrooms are equipped with automatic fixtures: sinks, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers.

• First Floor: Restrooms are split by gender and each includes an accessible stall.
• Second and Third Floors: Unisex, single-user restrooms with grab bars.

There are elevators to reach the upper floors.

 

 

Park Headquarters

Parking

An accessible parking space is located approximately 70 feet from the front door.

Lifts and Elevators

• There is a wheelchair lift to the first floor.
• Once inside, there is a n elevator to the second floor.

 

 

Keweenaw History Center

There is no accessible entrance to the Keweenaw History Center. There is an exterior stairway leading to the front door and an interior stairway leading to the first floor and reading room. For those needing to access research materials, please contact the park by email to make arrangements.
