The Calumet Visitor Center offers three floors of exhibits that are geared towards multiple learning styles and age groups. Housed in the historic Union Building, students can explore what life used to be like in and around Calumet when the Calumet & Hecla Mining Company was operational. Entry is free. Exhibit themes and associated activities align with Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations, emphasizing social studies and science curriculums. The Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission provides a transportation reimbursement for all public, private, and home-school students and youth groups (PK-12) within Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon Counties to visit the Calumet Visitor Center and any of the park's Keweenaw Heritage Sites for free.
