Volunteering is an American tradition that has made an immeasurable contribution to communities, organizations, and individuals throughout the country. Today's volunteers are active, dynamic, creative individuals who possess the skills, desire, patience, and time to accomplish a wide variety of tasks.

Volunteers donate millions of hours to your national parks annually. Volunteers are accepted from the public without regard to race, creed, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.

The popular season for volunteers is June through October, but the frigid winters also provide volunteer opportunities for those who enjoy lots of snow! Individuals may volunteer a few hours a month or up to several days per week.

Keweenaw Heritage Sites Volunteer Opportunities

There are a wide variety of Keweenaw Heritage Sites which partner with Keweenaw National Historical Park, all of which contain significant cultural and/or natural resources and share their own unique chapter of the Keweenaw's copper mining heritage. Many of these sites rely on volunteers to make their operation and upkeep of the site possible.
