Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument will receive $140,000 in funding from the Inflation Reduction Act to continue restoration work to improve aquatic passages (culverts and bridges) to benefit endangered Atlantic salmon.

Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument is proposing a programmatic agreement with the Maine State Historic Preservation Office and four Native American Tribes to disclose regular maintenance activities and their environmental impacts.

Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument will continue efforts to restore and improve habitat for endangered Atlantic salmon with $138,461 in funds received from the Inflation Reduction Act.

Highway signs with information for visiting Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument will be installed along the Interstate 95 and Route 11 corridors between Medway and Island Falls, Maine beginning the week of October 21.
