Learn About the Park

South end of the park
The Gateway Arch is situated on the west bank of the Mississippi River, in St. Louis, Missouri. The 630 foot monument is part of Jefferson National Expansion Memorial along with the Old Courthouse. Jefferson National Expansion Memorial is one of over 400 units within the National Park Service, which is a bureau of the Department of the Interior.

Although at this time there is major construction on the Arch grounds, you may still take a ride to the top of the Arch. Spring and summer are busy times at the Arch. Sometimes we sell out of tickets to visit the top. Reserve your spot in advance online or by calling toll-free 877-982-1410.
