In the Garfield Home
Visitors may sign up for a guided tour of the Garfield home at the front desk of the Visitor Center. Tours are about 45 minutes and take you through the multi-leveled home. The house is wheelchair accessible. Tour times vary each day: call the morning of your visit for a specific schedule. The first tour begins before 10:20 a.m and the last tour during the 3 p.m. hour. You will be put on the first available tour upon your arrival. Reservations are required for groups of 6 or more people.
In the Visitor Center
An 18-minute film on President Garfield's life is shown on a loop in the Auditorium. Visitors may self-guide through the interpretive exhibits. The site bookstore, passport stamps, Junior Ranger books, B.A.R.K Ranger books, and several brochures are available here.
On the Grounds
No time for a house tour? Walk the loop path while listening to our cell phone tours. Stops 1-10 are a general grounds tour and 11-20 detail the first front porch presidential campaign conducted here in 1880.
Do you have a dog traveling with you? Although pets are not permitted inside the buildings, they can become a B.A.R.K Ranger while visiting the grounds! Materials can be accessed near the waste station outside the Visitor Center, or call the Visitor Center at 440-255-8722 and a ranger will bring a card out to you. Leashed dogs are permitted on the grounds; only service animals are allowed inside the buildings.
Want to explore these options before coming? Below you can find links to the virtual house tour, site movie, cell phone tour, Junior Ranger, and B.A.R.K. Ranger. If you have any other questions or want to reserve your tour please call (440) 255-8722.
