About the Artist

Matthew McConville was an Isle Royale Artist-in-Residence from July 24th to August 8th, 2012. He was born in New York State, the sixth of eight children, and earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the University of Iowa. He has been represented by galleries in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland and Pennsylvania and is currently represented by Richard Levy Gallery. He is featured in New American Paintings volume 4, 1995 and Volume 75 in 2008.
