About the Artist*John Hubbard was an Isle Royale Artist-in-Residence from August 5th to August 20th, 2005. He taught Painting and Printmaking at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan from 1969 to 2014. He holds a MFA from Syracuse University and a BFA from Boston University. He has participated in more than 275 juried exhibits in the U.S. and Canada and has had 25 one-person exhibitions. His work is in the collections of Ford Motor Company, Michigan Technological University and Syracuse University, among many other public and private collections. The recipient of the Michigan Creative Artist Grant, his areas of expertise include painting, printmaking, papermaking, and drawing.
