Isle Royale Reflection"Isle Royale is so special to me. When I was a kid, my dad was a park ranger and we would spend each summer at a different national park. My summer at Isle Royale was by far my most favorite. When I was a sophomore in high school, I had my first solo backpacking trip on Isle Royale, and returned again with my dad and his friend for a canoeing and portaging trip on the island. I was thrilled to learned about the Artist-in-Residence program, and even more excited to get accepted. I will never forget my time on the island - the sounds, the sights, the memories. The margaritas. :). The piece I wrote, "Isle Royale", is a reflection of the sights, sound, my imagination of the history, my favorite place."
