Come learn of fall activities and adaptations that plants and animals use to prepare for winter. • Grade levels: 1st - 6th Discover and explore the diverse habitats of Indiana Dunes National Park. • Grade levels: 4th - 12th Explore the history and significance of Lake Michigan and its profound impact on our lives. • Grade levels: 4th - 12th Learn how wind, waves, and plants work together to form dunes. Understand the concept of succession through exploration of the trail’s varied landscapes. Discover the ways in which humans have altered the dunes and what we can do to help them prosper. Come to the Douglas Center to meet and learn about our ambassador animals. Discover the threats native species face and what we can do to help them. • Grade levels: Preschool - 5th Students will investigate the rich diversity of an interdunal pond and examine the pond's surrounding ecosystem of plants and animals. • Grade levels: All Students will understand how plants and animals adapt to survive the winter through discussion and hiking.
