Support Your Park

There are many ways to support Indiana Dunes National Park. Six of the easiest ways are described below:

1. Visit the park and show your support by being a park steward, leaving the park in at least as good a condition as when you arrived. Treat the land with respect by picking up litter, staying on marked trails, and throwing away trash in garbage cans. Also respect all wildlife from a safe distance and avoid introducing or transporting non-native species.
2. Learn about the park on a ranger-led program. We also offer special programs for your organized group call [phone]. See the web calendar for opportunities.
3. Become a park volunteer by visiting The Park Connection's volunteer page. We are looking for help with special events, cleaning up the park, and help with restoration projects, as well as many other special kinds of volunteer opportunities. If you do not have access to the internet, please call the volunteer coordinator at (219)-221-7098.
4. Show your support by purchasing a book or souvenir at the Dorothy Buell Memorial Visitor Center bookstore to remind you of your trip or enhance your knowledge of the dunes. A part of the proceeds from the Eastern National bookstore sales are returned to support the park.
5. Become a member of the Friends of Indiana Dunes. The Friends of Indiana Dunes' mission is to enhance and foster understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the Indiana Dunes through financial and volunteer support of the state and national parks. 6. Donate to the Indiana Dunes National Park, which will be used to fund maintenance projects and enhance activities at the park.
