Networking
The Appalachian Highlands Network is one of 32 National Park Service Inventory and Monitoring Networks across the country established to facilitate collaboration, information sharing, and economies of scale in natural resource monitoring. The network includes four parks located in the Appalachian Mountains across Tennessee and North Carolina, including Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Obed Wild and Scenic River. These parks and their partners are dedicated to understanding and preserving the region's unique resources through science and education. This web site delivers information about these resources, the network's inventory and monitoring program, and the scientific activities underway.
