Hovenweep

Things To Do

Hovenweep is a small park with big potential! Explore the trails by day and stars by night (trails are closed sunset to sunrise). Look for birds, study geology, or simply sit and listen to Hovenweep's protected soundscape. Owls, coyotes, ravens, canyon wrens, and wind whistling through the canyons provide the perfect soundtrack for your stay. What will you do during your visit?

Ranger-led Programs

Hovenweep rangers typically offer a variety of activities spring through fall. Rangers present guided walks, porch talks, and astronomy talks with telescope viewings. Times and topics vary. Program scheduling may be changed or cancelled due to safety measures regarding COVID-19. Please contact the park for updated information.

Arts in the Park

Enjoy the arts in the park! The Community Artist in the Parks program connects park visitors to the arts. You can meet the artist at Hovenweep. Check the calendar below for details.
