Kīlauea Visitor Center Parking Congestion
Kīlauea Visitor Center parking lot is full from before 10 am to 2 pm every day.

Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park is among the most popular attractions in the state, welcoming about two million people a year. During peak visitation, typically in December, January, June and July, parking is limited and tends to fill early each day. Visitors are encouraged to plan carefully.

  • Always visit Hawai‘i Volcanoes with a back-up plan
  • Donʻt expect to find a parking space at popular sites
  • Park legally and responsibly
  • If a parking lot is full when you arrive, chose a new destination or try again another time of day
