We’ll clear grills, replace picnic table boards, collect debris fallen from trees, and remove litter from banks of the stream. All ages welcome.
Saturday, July 13: ‘Summer Shine’ Chimneys Picnic AreaSpend time with old friends and make new ones during this clean-up of Chimneys Picnic Area. We’ll replace picnic table boards, collect fallen debris, clear grills, and remove litter left from July 4th revelry. All ages welcome.
Saturday, July 20: ‘Dig Out 1’ Deep Creek CampgroundNPS rangers will lead this initial ‘dig out’ at a locals-favorite campground. We’ll clear fire rings, remove debris and litter, and work together to get things looking great for summer fun! All ages welcome.
Saturday, August 3: ‘Cosby Cares’ Cosby Campground & Picnic AreaHelp clean-up beautiful Cosby Campground and Picnic Area. We’ll clear grills, replace picnic table boards, collect debris fallen from trees, and remove litter found in the area. All ages welcome.
Saturday, August 17: ‘Spruce Up’ Smokemont CampgroundNC-based rangers will lead us on the workday which includes clearing grills, replacing picnic table boards, collecting fallen debris fallen, and removing litter found in this very popular campground. All ages welcome.
Saturday, September 14: ‘Pitch In’ Elkmont CampgroundAll hands needed for this work day in the park’s largest campground. We’ll do assignments we’ve learned to do very well as a team… Repairing picnic tables, clearing fire rings, and removing debris. All ages welcome.
CANCELED—Saturday, September 28: ‘Dig Out 2’ Deep Creek CampgroundCome on out to Deep Creek to join our ‘campground clean-up crew’. For this second workday, we’ll continue work unfinished in our first ‘Dig Out’ and follow NPS rangers' lead on additional projects. All ages welcome. CANCELED—Saturday, October 26: ‘Deep Creep’ Deep Creek Picnic AreaGreat Smoky Ghouls & Goblins come together annually to greet Halloween with a fun costumed clean-up and scavenger hunt. Let’s get out and do the Deep Creep where all will win a wonderful treat! All ages welcome. Saturday, November 16: ‘Fire Safety’ Daisy Town Historic DistrictFor this last day of our season, we’ll work alongside a team of wildland firefighters to remove leaf litter and other flammable debris that’s collected around the historic cabins of Daisy Town. Ages 13+ welcome.
