![]() Project SKYGLOW 2025 Astronomy Volunteer PositionsAre you a passionate advocate for dark skies? Are you experienced in astronomy outreach? Do you love our national parks? Imagine living and working on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, sharing the beauty of the Canyon by day, and its sublime starlight by night! Astronomy volunteers work the visitor center desk in the late afternoons, rove along the rim, provide solar astronomy, answer visitor questions, and provide informal interpretation. In the evening, volunteers provide "pop-up" telescope viewing sessions along the rim, near the hotels, and at the campgrounds. They present formal constellation talks and work alongside park rangers to conduct star parties through the week. They may also participate in night sky citizen science campaigns for the park and take occasional sky quality measurments (training provided onsite). ![]() NPS Photo Rader Lane Required Skills and Interests
