Feel the shock and awe as massive chunks of ancient ice crack, pop, and break free from the tidewater face of Margerie Glacier before smashing into the sea.
Rumbling and crashing as ice collides with water. A clunk, and a small splash, followed by sounds of small rocks falling into water. Clunking and scratching ice falls and splashes into water. Cracking of rock and ice is heard occasionally throughout.
Glacier ice on the beach
An iceberg is stranded on a remote shoreline in Glacier Bay. The rhythms of dripping glacier ice and wavelets lapping the shore are an ancient sound.
Trickling, tinkling water sounds. A crunching and occasional bump against hard, hollow material is recorded. This could be rocks or ice colliding gently. Light, pattering water sounds are ever-present in the recording.
Bergy Seltzer
Tiny air bubbles are compressed deep within glacier ice. As the ice melts, these ancient air pockets burst free, creating natural seltzer!
