June 17, 2016 Posted by: Chris Gabriele

Strawberry Island field observations viewed from offshore. On June 16th, the marine mammal research team arrived on Strawberry Island to start observations for the "Acoustic Spyglass" project (see previous posts).  The field team consists of two Ph.D. students, (Leanna Mathews and Michelle Fournet) assisted by a lucky group of four undergraduates from Oregon State University. Two of the assistants (David Culp and Lucas Williams) are returning for their second field season on the project, which is a testament to how rewarding they found the work and the field camp lifestyle last summer. Read about it in their own words at https://mfournet.wordpress.com/
