![]() Photo Courtesy of Selene Jarvis George Washington Birthplace's Artist-in-Residence program offers artists an opportunity to work and create in this historical and natural enviroment. Artists-in-Residence use their talent and skill to offer unique ways for the public to connect with the site. Artist-in-Residence Program Details:The George Washington Birthplace National Monument's Artist-in-Residence program is a non-residential program so we are unable to provide housing to artists. Selected artists will be provided with a dedicated studio space in the Memorial Area of the park in which to work. Expectations of ArtistsThroughout the duration of their residency, artists will work with their medium of choice in the studio or in the park for a minimum of 50 hours in 2024. By the end of their residency, they will work with park staff to create an art exhibition, program, or performance of their work.
