Highbush Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) The highbush blueberry is a deciduous shrub native to eastern Canada and the eastern and southern United States. It grows best in wet environments like bogs and shorelines, and grows from 6 ft. to 12 ft. tall. For most of the year, the plant yields dark green leaves, but in fall they can change to beautiful red, orange, yellow, and purple hues. Its flowers are bell-shaped, around ⅓ of an inch long, and are pale pink in color. Its juicy fruit grows in August. |
