Have YOU ever wanted to volunteer in a National Park?

Volunteers are an essential element of operations at First State National Historical Park! From trail maintenance and water quality monitoring, to interpretation and education, and everything in between we have opportunities in the park for individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels!

In 2023, 150 volunteers donated a collective 2,789 hours of service to First State NHP!

Interested in becoming a First State National Historical Park Volunteer? Here's how you can apply:

Select one of the park site's listed below or visit volunteer.gov and enter "First State" in the "Site Name" search. Once you have found a position that interests you, click "Apply Now" at the bottom of the position description screen. Fill out your information and submit your application to the position you are interested in. The park's volunteer coordinator will contact you following the applications submission
