![]() NPS Photo The Visitor and Education Center is located near the main parking lot and is the best place to start your visit to Fort McHenry. Entrance to the Visitor and Education Center's film and exhibits is free. Admission to the Star Fort and passes can only be purchased at the front desk of the Visitor and Education Center. Visitor Services DeskAsk a ranger about daily programs and special events. Park brochures and Junior Ranger booklets are available at the front desk. 'America the Beautiful' National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands passes and Fort McHenry annual passes may be purchased/obtained at the front desk. Lost and found inquiries may be submitted to a staff member at the front desk. Orientation FilmA ten minute orientation film on the Battle of Baltimore and the writing of "The Star-Spangled Banner" is availalbe in the exhibit area. The film runs at the top and bottom of every hour beginning at 9:00 am. The last showing of the film is at 5:00 pm. ExhibitsAn exhibit area featuring artifacts, displays,and interactive programs that highlight the War of 1812, Battle of Baltimore, and the history of "The Star-Spangled Banner" is located next to the front desk. Gift ShopThe Fort McHenry gift shop offers books, souvenirs, postcards, flags, apparel, and gifts to remember your visit. Bottled water is also available for purchase in the gift shop. Water bottle filling stations are available inside the Visitor Center and along the trail next to the building. Vending machines offering snacks and bottled beverages are available on the exterior of the building. Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine Visitor CenterThe Fort McHenry Visitor Center is open daily from 9:00 am - 4:45 pm. Inside the visitor center is an introductory museum, a movie (plays every 30 minutes), the park bookstore, restrooms, and water bottle filling station. The visitor center and museum are free to visit. Visitors interested in purchasing entrance passes to the Star Fort Historic Zone or an America the Beautiful pass can do so here. Follow the brown Fort McHenry directional signs along all major routes to the park. From I-95 northbound, take Exit 55 Key Highway and follow Fort McHenry signs. Once inside the park gates follow the park road to the main parking lot. The visitor center is located directly adjacent of the main parking lot.
