2400 East Fort Avenue Baltimore, MD 21230 The park is three miles southeast of the Baltimore Inner Harbor and just off I-95. Follow the brown Fort McHenry directional signs along all major routes to the park. From I-95 northbound, take Exit 55 Key Highway and follow Fort McHenry signs. Temperatures and weather in the spring and fall months tend to be mild. Ice, snow, and freezing temperatures can occur during winter. Extreme heat can occur during the summer months. Inclement weather may impact park hours of operation year round. Refer to the park alerts or call ahead to confirm operating hours. Effective June 1, 2018 the entrance fee to Fort McHenry will be $15.00 per person for anyone 16 years of age and older. Visitors 15 years of age or younger are always free. The annual Fort McHenry-specific park pass will cost $45.00, but still covers the entrance fee for the card holder and up to three additional adults. Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine Visitor CenterThe Fort McHenry Visitor Center is open daily from 9:00 am - 4:45 pm. Inside the visitor center is an introductory museum, a movie (plays every 30 minutes), the park bookstore, restrooms, and water bottle filling station. The visitor center and museum are free to visit. Visitors interested in purchasing entrance passes to the Star Fort Historic Zone or an America the Beautiful pass can do so here. Download the new NPS App which is the official app for all 420+ NPS sites. The NPS App will act as your virtual visitor center! You can also see the movie that is usually shown in the visitor center which is available on our multimedia page on our website and is a good way to become familiar with the park’s history. Virtual tours, self-guided tours, other videos, and photo galleries are also found on the same page on our website. Plan to spend about one hour touring the fort - all self-guided. An entire visit usually requires two hours. Special Events include: Defenders' Day, military twilight ceremonies, seasonal living history programs, and special ranger programs on certain holidays.
