The park's grounds and parking lot are open daily from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. for recreational visitors free of charge. The Visitor Center and gift shop are open daily from 9:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. Park maps, brochures, Junior Ranger books, and passport stamps are available at the tent. Rangers and volunteers will be available to answer questions and provide needed assistance. Tour the Historic Star FortLearn the history of Fort McHenry from the War of 1812 through World War I! Walk through the same buildings and on the same bastions as generations of American soldiers. With around 80% of the brick being original, visitors get an authentic view and feel of life in the fort. Self-Guided and Virtual ToursThere are several virtual and self-guided tour options that allow visitors to view all exhibit areas and have a guided experience via smart device. Junior Ranger ProgramKids of all ages can participate in the Junior Ranger program. The Junior Ranger booklet is full of activities that can be completed to earn a Junior Ranger badge! Just find a Park Ranger when you're done to be sworn in. Booklets are available at the Visitor Contact Station. Outdoor RecreationFort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is proud to provide a green space in Baltimore City for people to improve their emotional and mental well-being by nurturing with nature. Two lush lawns provide plenty of space to stretch out on a blanket or play your favorite game. Enjoy a meal at one of our picnic tables while taking in the view of Baltimore Harbor. Runners, walkers and bikers alike are welcome to utlize our Seawall Trail for some outdoor exercise. All programs are subject to change based on staff availability and weather.
