Be a Caretaker of Ebey's Landing: Follow the B.A.R.K. Principles

As more people discover the beauty of Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve, it’s vital that we all take on the responsibility of being good stewards of this special place. You can help by following the B.A.R.K. principles whenever you visit with your furry friend:

  • Bag your poop. Keep the Reserve clean and healthy by properly disposing of pet waste.
  • Always wear a leash. Protect wildlife and other visitors by keeping your dog leashed at all times.
  • Respect wildlife and hikers. Ensure your dog doesn’t disturb wildlife or interfere with other visitors' experiences.
  • Know where you can go. Stay informed about dog-friendly trails and areas within the Reserve.

Help us preserve this incredible landscape for future generations by packing out everything you pack in—including dog waste.

Want to learn more? Discover the B.A.R.K. Ranger Program during your visit and see how you and your four-legged friend can play a part in protecting this beautiful Reserve!

We Love Our Four-Legged Friends!

Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve is a special place, unlike traditional national parks or historical parks. It’s a living, functioning community, with more than 85% of the land privately owned by citizens, agencies, and organizations. This unique partnership creates an incredible place to explore, but it also means we all need to tread carefully and responsibly.

Exploring with Your Pet

The Reserve offers spectacular hiking trails and pristine beaches where pets are always welcome! However, for the safety of wildlife, other visitors, and the landowners, dogs must remain on-leash on all Reserve trails. Please ensure your dog does not roam onto privately owned properties or chase the abundant wildlife, including deer, squirrels, rabbits, and coyotes.

Off-Leash Fun at Patmore

If your dog needs a good run, visit the Patmore Off-Leash Area, a 10-acre space designed just for them. This area features:

  • An enclosed agility section.
  • A partially enclosed large "run free" area.
  • Parking, picnic tables, and an informational kiosk.

Your pup can enjoy the freedom to roam while you relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.

Enjoy the Reserve with your four-legged friend and help us keep it welcoming and safe for everyone by following local guidelines. Together, we can ensure Ebey's Landing remains a haven for pets, people, and wildlife alike!

When exploring the beautiful trails and beaches of Ebey's Landing with your pet, please remember to clean up after them. It’s essential to pack out all waste, as there are no trash facilities along the hiking trails.

Help us keep the Reserve pristine and enjoyable for everyone by being a responsible pet owner. Thank you for doing your part!
