During the summer months, kids can come to the monument's ranger station where a park ranger will give them a free Junior Ranger book to complete. All kinds of fun and interesting activities can be found within the pages of these Junior Ranger booklets, including drawing, word scrambles, puzzles, and writing exercises. During the summer, park rangers are always available to lend a helping hand with these activities. Upon completion of the booklet, kids get to take the Junior Ranger oath with a real park ranger! Once sworn in, they receive an official Junior Ranger badge and certificate. Didn't get to complete the Junior Ranger program while you were here? Send your completed booklet or email us photos of the finished pages and we'll mail you a Junior Ranger patch. If you mail us your booklet you will also be sent back the certificate signed by a ranger! Click here for our address. You can download and print the Junior Ranger book if you want to start on it at home. Whether you are able to visit Devils Postpile and become a Junior Ranger or not, there are national junior ranger programs and other parks that have on-line Junior Ranger programs. |
