Ranger Update

NPS Denali Patrol #4 (Shain, 4 VIPs)  All patrol members were at the 14 camp last night, and they intend to head down to basecamp tonight for a flight out to Talkeetna tomorrow.

NPS Denali Patrol #5 (Gentzel, 3 VIPs)  Not much movement today on the upper mountain as windy conditions are prevalent at all elevations.

NPS Denali Patrol #6 (Weber, Preston, 4 VIPs)  The team is camped at 11,200-feet, with intentions of heading up to 14 camp tomorrow morning if conditions allow.

NPS Basecamp Patrol #5 (Erickson, 2 VIPs)  The patrol made it to the Pika Glacier, a.k.a. Little Switzerland, yesterday for a little clean-up and a little climbing.

Route Conditions

Lots of snow coupled with cooler temperatures translates to good travel conditions on the lower glacier. The upper basecamp landing strip is established, but not being used regularly now that conditions have improved.
