Delete Term

To access the Delete Term dialog, select this option from the edit term options displayed for an individual item in the Edit Taxonomy Terms dialog.

If this term has no narrower terms associated with it, the following dialog opens:

Click Save to delete the specified term or Cancel to exit without deleting.

If this term has narrower terms associated with it, the following dialog opens:

Choose one of the following options:

Attach narrower terms to a new parent term - Displays the Select a new Parent Term dialog for adding orphan terms to an existing broader term, retaining any internal hierarchy of narrower terms. The current parent for the narrower terms is unavailable.

View Terms: Displays options hierarchically or alphabetically.

Select a new parent term for the orphaned narrower terms and click Save to recategorize them or Cancel to exit without saving.

Uncategorize narrower terms not referenced elsewhere - Flattens the hierarchy of related narrower terms and moves them to the Uncategorized Terms folder. This option does not affect narrower terms with current parent or child relationships within the facet.
Delete all narrower terms - Permanently removes this term's narrower terms, child terms and associations to any of these terms are also deleted. This option does not affect narrower terms with current parent or child relationships within the facet.
