Basic Information

Park Status:

Coltsville NHP is in the final stages of completing the legislative requirements for moving from an "authorized" park to an "established" unit of the National Park Service. So we are technically not an official park yet. This also means we do not have a park stamp.

The remaining requirement is the official land donation of at least 10,000 square feet in the Colt Armory Complex, to serve as the future visitor center. We are currently working on the title and deed transfer, which is complex and tedious. Unfortunately, we cannot estimate when this process will be completed. Coltsville NHP is a developing park. Hours will change as programs are developed. Park grounds are a mix of public and private property. Please adhere to posted hours for public parks and spaces and be respectful of private property.

Visitor Centers

Coltsville National Historical Park is a new park and does not currently have a visitor center. To find more information on the National Park Service in the area, visit Springfield Armory National Historic Site, located in Springfield, Massachusetts, approximately half an hour north of Coltsville.
