Adaptive Ways to Reuse NPS Facilities

The National Park Service provides for leasing of historic as well as non-historic properties in park areas. A lease authorizes any activity not permitted by a concessions contract or commercial use authorization. All leases must provide for fair market value rent as determined by an appraisal.

The National Park Service announces a Request for Proposal for the leasing of one 23,352 square-foot Multiuse facility, the former officer’s club at Fort Monroe National Monument. This is a great opportunity for an appropriate adaptive use of this unique indoor-outdoor waterfront facility within the National Monument.
