Accessibility

The National Park Service welcomes people with disabilities and strives to make Channel Islands National Park as universally accessible as possible. However, extra obstacles will be encountered because of the remote nature of this special place.

In short, the mainland visitor center in Ventura and the visitor contact station in Santa Barbara are accessible. However, due to their isolation, rugged terrain, and transportation requirements, the islands are not readily accessible for individuals in wheelchairs or those with limited mobility. Please review the Physical / Mobility Accessibility page for more information.

Limited access is available on the park concessioner boats and planes. Please call Island Packers (805-642-1393) for more information on safely accessing their vessels and planes.

The links within this accessibility section (highlighted to the right) provide information about specific facilities, programs, and services that may help you better plan your visit. If a particular service or issue is not mentioned, please contact the park or call us at 805-658-5730. Please note that there is no lodging in the park so accessibility information is not provided for this category.
