Volunteer

Volunteers play a major role in this park, contributing their skills, time, and enthusiasm to help preserve and protect the park's natural and cultural resources, and to serve and educate visitors. Although the park can never repay its volunteers for their valuable contributions, we do our best to make your time enjoyable and fulfilling.

Individuals can check volunteer.gov for current opportunties. You can filter by agency (National Park Service) and location (for example, "Channel Islands National Park") to find open positions that suit your interests and availability.

If you are interested in a group volunteer project, email CHIS_Volunteer@nps.gov. Groups generally provide their own transportation to the park.

If you are interested in helping orient visitors to park islands and lead guided hikes, consider joining the Channel Islands Naturalists Corps.
