Catoctin Mountain Park preserves 5,890 acres of hardwood forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Maryland. For decades the park has served as a respite from the city, offering over 25 miles of hiking trails, opportunities for rock-climbing, fishing, campsites, cabin-camps, and more! In addition to recreation and natural preservation, the park preserves historic sites and artifacts left behind by Indigenous peoples, European settlers, and the Civilian Conservation Corps.
