Camp Nelson National Monument is split into three discontiguous sections. The largest section is located on the east side of Danville Road in Nicholasville, KY and includes the U.S. Colored Troops Camp Site, the Oliver Perry "White House", the Prison Site, and earthen fortifications. A second section, located further south on Danville Road, contains the Ordnance Depot Site. This section is directly adjacent to the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. The third and smallest section is located to the southwest and can be accessed from Hall Road, off Danville Road. This section contains the Home for Colored Refugees Site and Hospital Site.
