Applegate Trail - Emigrant Lake Park Exhibits

The 1847 Applegate Trail, part of the California National Historic Trail, is the southern route into Oregon. From Fort Hall in present-day Idaho to the upper Willamette Valley, settlers blazed a trail through almost 500 miles of wilderness—in less than four months. The year was 1846.
