Operating Hours & Seasons

Before visiting, please note the following operating hours and areas of access:

The park's operating hours are 9 am to 4 pm daily, with the gate closing 15 minutes prior to closing time. There is no access to any areas of the park after the gate closes.

At closing time, visitors need to exit all areas of the park, which includes visitor center, historic area, parking lot, restrooms, and picnic area. Access for exiting the park once the gate is closed is available once you drive up to the gate on the outgoing side.

Open:

• Visitor center information desk, monument bookstore, museum exhibits, movie theater, Compound A, and the picnic area. Compound A is the area normally opened to the public for visitation which includes the Great House and visible ruins immediately surrounding the Great House.
• All public access to the monument 7 days a week, with the exception of the following holidays: Juneteenth, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
