Due to the catastrophic damage to the Blue Ridge Parkway caused by Hurricane Helene, the North Carolina section of the motor road is closed indefinitely; we will not be issuing any permits for any special events in North Carolina until further notice.
Applications for events in Virginia will be processed only when the motor road is deemed safe and open for normal visitor use. Due to the management priorities of the park during disaster recovery, processing times for applications for events in Virginia will be delayed.
Certain filming activities may require a permit. Still photography requires a permit in certain instances. Please read Filming Guidelines, Requirements, and Fees and contact BLRI_Permits@nps.gov with questions.
