Notes: In the year of the Lord 1801 Felix Hurtado, son of Francisco Hurtado and Juana de Dios Mesa, who was fifteen years of age, died at the hands of the Apaches like the two above (Juan Antonio Crespo and José María Paxarito) and was buried on the same day as them, the sixth, in the cemetery. There was no time to provide any of the sacraments, nor was their any way to get to them because the Apaches were laying in wait for the people to come outside. It was like this until the afternoon of the sixth when the said people of the village were reinforced. When the soldiers and the residents were able to unite after two days, the Apaches retreated and his body was retreived and buried, for which truths I signed on the said day, month, and year as above. Fr. Narciso Gutierrez, Mtro for S.M.
