Seawall Campground is located on the west side of Mount Desert Island, about 4 miles (6 km) south of Southwest Harbor on Maine Route 102A.

• Season Dates: May 21 through Oct 13, 2025 (Last reservation Oct 12)
  

• Ninety percent of campsites are released six months in advance on the first of each month at 10 am EST. The remaining 10 percent are released at 10 am 14 days ahead of a desired arrival date on a rolling basis. All campsite reservations must be made in advance at Recreation.gov. Reservations cannot be made through the campground office or in-person.

• Camping Fees (paid at time of reservation, not at the campground)

  • Walk-in tent sites: $22

  • Drive-up tent, camper, and motor home sites: $30

  • Group tent sites: $60

Campground FAQs

May I make a same day reservation for tonight?

Visitors are able to make same day reservations if campsites are available. Reservations must be made through Recreation.gov and cannot be made through the campground office or in person.

When do Seawall campsites become available?

Ninety percent of campsites are released six months in advance on the first of each month at 10 am EST. How far do I have to walk if I reserve a walk-to site?

The walk-to sites are anywhere from 10 to 300 feet from the parking area. The distance to each site is listed in the site description.

Does Seawall Campground have showers?

No. Showers are available from private vendors that are within a short drive from the campground. You can request this information when you check into your campsite.

We will be arriving late. Is there anything we need to do?

Arriving after hours? Please go to your reserved site and check in at the ranger station before 10 am the next day.
