Provide Law Enforcement & Emergency ServicesProtecting the visitor and the park includes providing law enforcement and emergency services including all-risk incident management, law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue, and a dispatch. As visitation increases so have rescues. Park staff work with the local partners including Mount Desert Island Search and Rescue, local town police and fire services, the Maine State Police, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Service's Maine Warden Service, the United States Forest Service for the people and support needed to meet the increasing demand for rescues. The United States Park Rangers at Acadia National Park provide vital law enforcement services to the public. |
