Acer palmatum var. dissectum ‘Ornatum’

1893

In 1893 First Lady Frances Folsom Cleveland planted a pair of Japanese threadleaf maple trees on the southern panel of the South Grounds. Today, only the west tree survives as the east was replaced in 1978 with a new tree planted by First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
