Do you have or qualify for a discounted America the Beautiful Pass?
If you already have an America the Beautiful—the National
Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, that's the only entrance
pass you need. Seniors, military, visitors with a permanent
disability, and families with a 4th grader are eligible for a free
or discounted America the Beautiful pass.
Passes cover the pass holder plus 3 additional individuals 16 and older. A valid photo ID needs to be presented along with the pass at the visitor center.
Fees are collected at the Visitor Center from all visitors 16 and older who are hiking to the Lower or Upper Cliff Dwellings.
For Individuals
All visitors over the age of 16 need an entrance pass, including
vehicle passengers. Children under the age of 16 don't need an
entrance pass.
Tonto National Monument charges a fee to all visitors hiking to the Lower or Upper Cliff Dwelling. Tour reservations are required to visit the Upper Cliff Dwelling. The Lower Cliff Dwelling is open September through May 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and June through August 8:00 am to noon. Credit and Debit only

America the Beautiful Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable
and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Passholders must show
valid photo identification (ID) with each pass.
How to Get an America the Beautiful Pass
In Person (Recommended)
Passes can be purchased or picked up at over 1,000 federal recreation sites.
To receive your pass by mail, order online at the
USGS Online Store
. Online orders are for physical passes, not digital passes, and may take up to three weeks to be processed and delivered. Order receipts may not be used in place of a physical pass. We recommend ordering at least three weeks in advance of your visit, or picking up a pass in person instead.
2025 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks
Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:
Tour groups are charged the same fees as individuals ($10.00 per person, 16 years of age and older). Individuals may use Interagency Passes.
Permits
For some activities at Tonto National Monument, a Special Use Permit is required. These activities include commercial filming or photography, commercial events, etc. Please follow the link to read more or contact us via phone or email.
America The Beautiful: National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes are only available at Tonto National Monument when the Lower Cliff Dwelling Trail is open and fees are being collected.

An Annual Pass costs $80
Can be purchased at the Tonto National Monument Visitor Center or at store.usgs.gov.
Annuals Passes are not valid without passholder signature.
Annual Passes purchased as gifts have two blank signature lines for use by gift recipient.
Valid for one full year from the month of purchase (through the last day of the month).
Allows pass holder and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to enter Federally operated recreation sites across the country.
Covers the pass holder and three (3) accompanying adults age 16 and older at sites where per person entrance fees are charged. No entry fee charged for children 15 and under.
Photo identification will be required to verify ownership.

A Lifetime Senior Pass costs $80.
For U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 and over; applicants must provide documentation of age and residency/citizenship.
Can be purchased at the Tonto National Monument Visitor Center or at store.usgs.gov.
May provide a 50 percent discount on some amenity fees charged for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launches, and specialized interpretive services.
Generally does NOT cover or reduce special recreation fees charged by concessioners.
Passes are NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE, and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
An Annual Senior Pass is $20.

A copy of ID issued by an authorized U.S. agency such as your driver's license, passport, or state issued ID & documentation that proves permanent disability such as:
Statement by a licensed physician (statement must include that the individual has a PERMANENT disability, that it limits one or more aspects of their daily life, and nature of those limitations).
Document issued by a Federal agency such as the Veteran's Administration, Social Security Disability Income, or Supplemental Income
Document issed by a State agency such as a vocational rehabilitation agency.

How do I get my pass?
Once your 4th grader has completed their web based activity on the Every Kid Outdoors website, they will be rewarded their voucher package for printing.
Your 4th grader must present their printed voucher at a participating Federal recreation site, like the Tonto National Monument Visitor Center to receive their Annual 4th Grade Pass.
Covers the 4th grader (pass holder) and three (3) accompany adults.
Valid from September to August (the school year plus the following summer).
Passes are NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE, and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
